Privacy Policy

Colm is a quiet place for things left unsaid or unreturned. Because those memories can be personal, the app is designed to keep as much data as possible on your device.

Summary

Data Stored On Your Device

Colm stores memory cards, drafts, card status, reminder records, reminder settings, app settings, and local usage records on your device. Local usage records do not include the text of your cards or drafts and are not transmitted from your device in the current version.

Data Sent For Draft Generation

When you choose to generate a draft, Colm sends limited card information to Anthropic, the provider of Claude, to create the opening of a message. This may include who the card is about, what happened, when it happened, what you want to say, and optional relationship or status details you added.

Colm does not send your card's local database ID, creation date, reminder history, status history, or other internal app metadata for draft generation.

Location And Weather

If you allow location access, Colm uses your device's current location to request weather data from OpenWeatherMap. Colm uses the weather response to decide whether a reminder should be sent. Colm does not store your latitude or longitude.

Notifications

Notifications do not include the contents of your cards, such as what happened, what you want to say, or your draft text. If you choose to show names in notifications, a name or label from a card may appear. You can turn this off in Colm's settings.

Wind Place

In the current version, Wind Place contains bundled, curated example cards. It does not upload your cards, drafts, or personal memories.

Your Choices

You can delete an individual card, erase all Colm data from Settings, turn off name display in notifications, disable notifications, revoke location permission, or uninstall Colm.
